Registration Info

Goals:

We are so excited to launch the Chapparal Sea Otters for the 2026 season! This will be a fun, community-driven effort to help our youth build confidence in the water.

Registration Costs:

  • Cost is $265 for Chapparal residents and those who have a family membership to the Chapparal pool.
  • Cost is $315 for non-residents. Non-residents only have access to the pool during swim team events.
  • Registration covers cost of t-shirt and caps. Team swimsuits are suggested and can be purchased at https://www.swimmisports.com/collections/chapparal-sea-otters! RMSL parent rep will pick up and distribute prior to our first meet.

Swimmer eligibility and expectations:

  • Must be able to swim the width of the pool unassisted.
  • Age between 5-18 as of June 1st, 2026
  • Swimmers cannot compete for Chapparal if they are eligible for another team in the RMSL through their HOA or metro district
  • Show up to at least two practices in a week to compete at a meet.
  • Participate in at least two meets to compete in prelims/finals.
  • Have swimsuit, goggles, and cap at practice and meets

Parent expectations

  • Parents/guardian must volunteer 3 to 4 shifts (equalling at least 8 points) at meets for each swimmer registered. This is a requirement to complete registration.
    • You are expected to find someone cover your shift if you cannot make your shift
    • Stroke judge shifts require a 30 minute online training, but these shifts are worth more points! Please sign up for stroke judge shifts and contact [email protected] if you are interested to be a stroke judge.

Meets

  • Meets will all be away, at other pools, and will start promptly at 7:15 AM (warm up) with events starting at 8 AM. Schedule is available on this site. Meets should end around 12 or 1pm.
  • Guardian must declare swimmer and event preferences for each meet by 12pm the Wednesday before. Relays are determined by available swimmers. If you do not declare your swimmer, they will not be signed up for specific events.
  • Bring goggles, sunscreen, swim cap, sweatshirts, and sunscreen. Meet days can be long!

Weather

Cancellations of practice and meets may occur on account of bad weather. Please check email and swimtopia app frequently if cancellation is possible. Volunteer shifts will be reassigned to rescheduled meet if there is a cancellation.

We look forward to a successful first season with you!
